Anastasiia Stepanova

Anastasiia is originally from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. She studied at a Pedagogical College from 2007 to 2011, and then earned her degree in English Philology from Zaporizhzhia National University in 2014.

From 2011 to 2014, she worked as an English teacher in a Ukrainian school, and later continued working with children as a nanny and tutor. Though she eventually stepped away from formal teaching, her passion for education never left.

After the full-scale war began, Anastasiia relocated to California, where she longed for home — until she found a sense of belonging in the Ukrainian community at St. Michael’s Ukrainian School in San Francisco. Embracing her teaching roots, she became a volunteer teacher at the school.

Anastasiia now leads the class “Discovering Ukraine”, where she teaches children about Ukrainian culture and traditions — and learns alongside them. Her passions include studying psychology, dancing, and spending time in nature.
