Before moving to the U.S., she spent 13 years teaching Ukrainian language and literature at the Rivne Ukrainian Gymnasium, where she also led a student literary club and poetry salon — a space that inspired young voices and creative expression.
Nelia is passionate about reading, especially classical and modern Ukrainian literature, and finds deep joy in poetry. She loves meeting new people and values sincere, meaningful conversations.
At St. Michael’s Ukrainian School in San Francisco, Nelia first joined as a substitute teacher and continues to share her love for the Ukrainian language and culture with every lesson.
